To our caring community!
There is a movement in our midst... Can you feel it? On February 5th, 2011, Laguna Beach will have its 3rd Annual Green Valentines Festival. Hundreds of people will come together for a FREE community event of fun, great music, children's activities, local vendors and international foods to honor and support local charities. Please join us at Bridge Hall, 340 St. Ann's Drive, Laguna Beach, CA 92651.
Green Valentines originated out of my desire to give back to our community for the extraordinary support our family received when our beautiful son, Christofer, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. During the last 8 months of Christofer's life, praying for a miracle and doing everything we could to save him, our community came together, offering loving support. This emotional, spiritual, and financial generosity was life saving for us. Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude. Christofer's life and loss taught us how incredible it is when people come together in love.
The first two Green Valentines were Environmental Festivals with the mission of helping create a sustainable future for our children. The first of their kind in Laguna Beach, they brought awareness to the practice of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Restore,” and catalyzed an active green movement in our community to carry the message further.
Inspired by Marianne Williamson's Sister Giant vision of American women bringing peace to the world, the mission of the 3rd Green Valentines is to help nurture a global, caring community. Our theme, “Celebrate Local Women Making A World of Difference,” showcases 25-30 local women whose causes improve lives in the areas of hunger and poverty, education, adoption, child abuse, addiction, child trafficking and sex slavery, prison work, non-partisan political activism and micro-credit loans. Please come and meet these inspirational women whose work has touched my heart so deeply. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to support them.
Visit our website at www.greenvalentines.net to see the entertainment schedule and the charities we are showcasing. Please help us get the word out to your family, friends and anyone you know who might be interested in supporting this mission.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me at 949-412-8948 or info@greenvalentines.net.
With deep gratitude,
Anna Krajec and the Green Valentines Team
